Library

We have one of Sweden's largest specialised libraries for building preservation and crafts. There are more than 50 metres of books and films about past building techniques, history of architecture, history of gardens, eco-building, materials, crafts and trades. We also have many old house catalogues and building product catalogues.

Library catalogue

You can search among thousands of book and film titles in the library catalogue, which are all available in Källnääs at Crafts & Building Preservation. Search by title, author, or keywords to find what you are interested in.

The library has the same hours as other activities at Slöjd & Byggnadsvård. Link to opening hours! You are always welcome to browse, find a seat and read here. If you contact us in advance, our librarian, Lena Svensson, can prepare for your visit by taking out books on the topic you are interested in.

Borrowing books

If you want to borrow any books from the library, you will need to go to your local library and request an interlibrary loan from us. Unfortunately we are not able to lend books to you directly.

Reading books digitally

There are some particularly interesting and valuable books that have been scanned, which you can read in digital form. (in swedish)
